Dhal is my ideal meal because it’s like a big warm hug. Cosy, perfect on its own or paired with rice or quinoa and extra roasted or raw vegetables and always doused in extra fresh lime juice.
Nutritiously speaking, dhal is a protein-rich, easy to digest, warming meal that will revitalise spent energy, satisfy you and not upset the tummy. The spices chosen in this meal greatly support digestion due to the fact they belong to the family of spices known as carminitives. Carminitve spices warm the digestive tract and combat flatulence commonly associated with consuming lentils and other legumes.
Rest assured that when you’re eating this dhal, flatulence won’t be a problem as the lentils have been soaked overnight to improve digestion and enhance absorbability of nutrients, and they’ve been combined with carminitive spices!
Sold in a 1L BioPak compostable container. Will keep for five days refrigerated, or you can freeze this dish for up to two months. We recommend transferring to a Tupperware container upon delivery.
